Booking in three steps

  1. At Tiqets you choose the size of the pass: attractions for the Explorer Pass, days for the New York Pass. Tiqets offers the New York Pass for 1 to 5 days; for 7 or 10 days, buy it from Go City and SUMMIT separately.
  2. Next you pick the day and time for SUMMIT or for the Met tour.
  3. You add the pass to the Go City App and reserve anything that needs a time slot there, such as the Statue of Liberty ferry or the Empire State Building. SUMMIT is already booked.

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt

The One Vanderbilt tower stands right next to Grand Central, and according to SUMMIT you enter the observation deck from the station’s main concourse. According to Tiqets, the standard ticket covers three levels: the mirror installation “Air”, a work by Yayoi Kusama and glass ledges high above Madison Avenue. From the top you see the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings.

It is open daily from 8 am to midnight, last entry 10:30 pm. Because the floors are mirrored, Headout recommends trousers and flat shoes, plus sunglasses during the day. Under-16s only with an adult. Large bags and backpacks must stay outside, and there is no storage on site.

The Met with a guided tour

The New York Pass and The Met combo ticket includes a guided tour lasting around two hours according to Tiqets, with museum entry included. Tiqets does not sell plain admission to The Met without a tour.

At the museum itself, adults pay $30 and children up to 12 go free. The “Pay what you wish” option is only for New York State residents and for students from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The Met is closed on Wednesdays; on Fridays and Saturdays it is open until 9 pm, on other days until 5 pm.

Prefer to explore on your own? Then buy your ticket from the museum. The Headout New York Pass offers guided tours of The Met as premium attractions.

Combo ticket or separate purchase

Compared with buying both separately at Tiqets, the combo ticket saves you 5%. You get the same 5% on the pass directly from Go City with the code NYPCITYVERG05, and there you can cancel within 90 days as long as the pass has not been activated. If you buy through Tiqets, the Go City pass cannot be cancelled; the SUMMIT ticket can be cancelled there up to 24 hours before the day of your visit.

If your trip is already fixed, the combo ticket is the quickest option. If your dates might still change, buy the pass from Go City and SUMMIT separately.

A third option is the Headout New York Pass: SUMMIT, the Empire State Building and the Met tour are available there as premium attractions. Until you reserve your first attraction, you can cancel it free of charge.

Frequently asked questions

Is SUMMIT One Vanderbilt included in the New York Pass?
No. None of the Go City passes includes SUMMIT, not the New York Pass, the Explorer or the Essentials, and CityPASS® does not have it either. The way around it: Tiqets sells the Go City passes as a combo ticket with SUMMIT, with 5% off both parts. In the Headout New York Pass you can choose SUMMIT as a premium attraction.
Is there a pass that includes The Met?
Go City and CityPASS® do not include The Met in any pass. At Tiqets you can combine The New York Pass® with a guided tour of The Met lasting around two hours, entry included. The Headout New York Pass offers guided tours of The Met as premium attractions. No pass includes a simple admission without a tour.
How does booking a combo ticket work?
You book two Tiqets products together in one step, for example the Explorer Pass and SUMMIT, and get 5% off both. For SUMMIT you choose the date and time slot right when booking. After that the Go City pass goes into the Go City App, where you reserve the other attractions.
Can I cancel a combo ticket?
Each part follows the rule Tiqets gives for it. Go City passes cannot be cancelled at Tiqets, while SUMMIT can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the day of your visit. So only book the combo ticket once your travel dates are certain.
