Many attractions in New York are quite expensive. If you visit the expensive attractions, the New York C3® Pass pays for itself quickly. However, for inexpensive offerings like the Guggenheim Museum or Museum of Modern Art, the pass is not worth it.

A special feature compared to other New York passes is that you can also visit a special exhibition at American Museum of Natural History.

In addition, you will receive discounts at some attractions: All offers and discounts can be found here.

These attractions are missing

The selection of attractions is very good, however there are some attractions that are not included in C3® Pass:

  • One World Observatory
  • Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met)
  • SUMMIT One Vanderbuilt
  • Hop-on/hop-off bus
  • Guided city tours

If you absolutely want to visit any of these attractions, you will have to buy individual tickets for them. However, many of these attractions are included in other New York passes.

In some cities, it is common that you can also use public transportation for free with a Sightseeing Pass. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the New York C3® Pass and is not included in any other product.

Reservations required

Please note that reservations are required for most attractions.

As soon as you have purchased the New York C3®, you should make the reservations. There is a convenient online portal for this at every supplier. The reservation alone does not activate the New York C3® Pass. The pass is only activated when you visit the first attraction.

We recommend that you always make a reservation, even if you are not required to do so. This is the only way to guarantee your visit. You also shorten the waiting time at the sights.

An overview of all services requiring reservations can be found here: Reservations with the New York C3® Pass.

What we like about the New York C3® Pass

The New York C3 Pass® is a good product for sightseeing in New York. There are some arguments in favor of the C3®:

Very good selection of attractions

With the New York C3® Pass you can visit several top attractions. The selection is very high quality.

Long validity

New York C3® Pass is valid for nine days from activation. That should be enough time for most visitors.

Digital product

Quickly and conveniently download New York C3® to your phone. No need to pick up the C3® Pass anywhere, you can use it immediately after purchase.

Good value for money

With the New York C3® you get a lot for your money - if you choose the most expensive attractions. For some inexpensive museums, however, the C3® Pass is not worth it.

Preferential admission through reservations

You can reserve a time slot for most participating attractions. The reservation is conveniently made online. With a time slot ticket, you enjoy priority admission in each case. This reduces waiting times at the attractions.

What we like less

While the New York C3® is a good product, there are drawbacks:

No public transport

The New York C3® Pass does not entitle the holder to use public transportation.

Some attractions missing

Since C3® Pass includes only 11 attractions, it is missing some important sights and tourist attractions.

Other New York passes have much more to offer: for example. The New York PassNew York Explorer Pass and Sightseeing Pass.

You are allowed to visit only three attractions

You are only allowed to visit 3 of 11 attractions. Other New York passes allow significantly more visits.

Not every attraction is worthwhile with the C3®.

The C3® Pass is only worth it if you choose the most expensive attractions. This is especially true for the viewing platforms and the boat rides with City Cruises.

For inexpensive museums and attractions, C3® Pass is not worth it. Each individual attraction should cost more than $32 to make the pass worth your while.

Reservations required

You have to make your own efforts to reserve the time slots. However, this has the advantage that you can avoid waiting times.

There is a reservation fee (CityPASS.com)

When purchased on CityPASS.com, there is a booking fee of $2 per pass.

Is the New York C3® Pass worth it?

Our opinion: The New York C3® Pass can be worthwhile for some visitors. The pass is suitable if you are interested in three expensive attractions. You can take up to nine days for this.

Waiting times are largely avoided, as a time slot can be reserved for all attractions. In addition, it is very convenient to be able to simply download the pass to your own cell phone.

One drawback is that there are only 11 attractions to choose from. Other New York passes offer significantly more. Also, the C3® Pass is only worth it for attractions that cost more than $32.
